Romeu Gaspar

I first met Romeu when he interviewed me for a position at a well-known consulting firm. And we’ve been working together since.

Romeu has an outstanding capacity to turn complex things into structured and understandable concepts. His career has been fast-paced and diverse: in college he studied theoretical physics and researched fusion power; after that his work in consultancy took him to almost every corner of the world, working in sectors so diverse as banking and renewable energy.

But he doesn’t stay on the beaten track. When we created off7, the company that would later became X&Y, he was the first to risk it all. To quit a very well paid job and a successful career in consultancy, to start everything from scratch, without any safety net.

Romeu also has a hard to describe passion for riding his bicycles. And he brings to the office the same intensity that gets him out of the bed early morning to ride through the hills. The tenacity that he puts in every project is an example for us all.

This said, it comes easily that the decision of creating a company with him was a no brainer. Throughout all this time, more than a partner, he has been a role model.
